The Dogs

Meet Zoey (left) & Riley (right)

Zoey (left) & Riley (right) have been our life, our pride and joy, our fur babies for the past few years.

Zoey was born on September 26th 2020 and joined the family that November. She came home the week before Thanksgiving that year. The love for that girl was so strong right from day one. Although she was a true test to our marriage. Dealing with puppy needs, accidents, and training is not an easy task at all.

Riley was born on December 24th 2022 and came home to join our family in March of 2023. Fun fact ~ Riley is actually Zoeys niece! We decided to bring Riley into our family after the loss of our older dog Bentley. Bentley unfortunately passed away after having a few seizures which was likely due to a brain tumor. He was only 9 years old.

Bentley was my aunts dog for several years. She unfortunately lost her battle with ovarian cancer in May of 2021. As Bentleys “God mother” he came home with us and very quickly became my sidekick. Luckily, he loved my husband so his transition was very easy.

After he passes away, we knew it would be best for Zoey to have another friend as she has only known the life of having other dogs to snuggle and play with all day. Thats when we decided to bring home Riley.

Zoey and Riley are the absolute best of friends and they play together constantly. They keep us busy and moving and definitely keep our spirits up. Ive contemplated several times registering Zoey as a therapy dog. She is so in tune with the energies of those around her and has helped me through many ups and downs. Riley, not so much. She’s amazing and playful and certainly brings a smile to the faces of many, but she’s also a little bit of a loaner. She’s not as snuggly as Zoey is and if she’s in a mood, she will spend the day by herself.

These dogs are my life and have helped me get through so many ups and downs over the years.
